Hi fellow hobbyist, i must say you really need to get the christmas wrasse out for since you have polyps they can pick at them, with any other corals they`re be fine but with polyps it`s not a good idea. Christmas wrasses are aggressive fishes to house small clowns with them is taking a chance, for you to get an idea of what i mean completely, in my hospital tank a 65, i have this christmas wrasse and i just leave him in there, for i dont want to place him in my 180 reef system, and i can`t put him with my larger fishes for he will be dead, put anyway i bought a Passer king angelfish and his only 2" and the christmas wrasse tried to pick at him and was attacked and from that moment he stayed away. You can have a christmas wrasse in a F/O tank and buy a bluehead wrasse that`s a inch longer then it and the christmas wrasse will in time kill the bluehead. Put honestly you need to get him out and if not another F/O tank return him back to the store, and please don`t listen to them if they say it`ll be fine ok, for most stores only care in the sales and not there customers. ><{{{{">

:I have a 46 gallon reef setup with live rock and sand, a christmas wrasse, tomato clown with anemone, scooter blenny and blue damsel. Corals are xenia polyps, yellow polyps, and a few mushrooms. There's a mithrax (i think) crab who I only see at night. While I have the live rock, I don't have much for algae or detritus control. I suspect I'll add a tang for algae control, but wondering if anyone can recommend something else that the wrasse won't go after. He's about 3" long and is doing well so far. Everyone eats flake readily, and I'm supplementing with mysis. I realize I've limited myself with the wrasse, but he's a hit with the family.
