yes I have noticed that...sometimes I'm not sure if its actually eating the food, as it sometimes spits it out, then inhales it again.

My clown trigger loves all kinds of different stuff. I feed a variety of two different flake foods, silver sides, brine shrimp, krill, frozen formula one, and squid. Your trigger would probably eat a few feeder fish too. Variety is good, it's just important not to overfeed, triggers are really quite messy fish.
