Sorry, but most likely, they had him in with some angels or some other fishes that can cause that damage to him before they shipped him. That`s one the problem ordering on line is risky to what shape or health wise the fish would be when you get them. Now all you can do is treat him with copper and 2 formalin treaments in a hospital alone and leave the lights off when not feeding, it`ll only cause him more stress.
