The powder blue needs plenty of space to swim around and must have highly oxygenated water. Once acclimated to the aquarium it is fairly robust. Because of its intense territorial
behavior, it is not recommend that any other tang or blue colored
fish be kept with this one. It feeds almost exclusively on vegetable fare in the sea, but in the aquarium it accepts alga (like Nori or Marine Nutrition Seaweed Select), as well as Mysis, Enchytraeidae, grindal worms, shrimp, mussels, flake foods and Formula 1 type products. A leucosternon changes its coloration based on mood.If it is pale blue with a gray-black head, it feels poorly and leaves the tankmates in peace. If the head is very black and body deep blue it is in top form and may become very aggressive as it patrols the aquarium. If light cros-stripes appear on the body and the forehead lightens then beware, tankmates may be in danger! Temperature is 23-28 deg. C and adult length is 30 cm. Minimum tank length is 150 gal
I don`t know if i type this but this fish is some what harder to maintain for beginners. ><{{{{">

:I purchased a Powder Blue Tang this past Friday. Saturday he ate some freeze dried algae but has not eaten a nibble of anything that I attempt to feed him. I have tried frozen Brine Shrimp, Tenera and some other various types of frozen food. He does not appear to be showing any signs of ich or other problems - so I am really confused.
:Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
