Hi, just set up a tank about a month and a half ago. When I was getting some fish at Petco, the girl at the store gave me a couple of tiny snails that were in their tank. She told me they weren't any specialty snails, and that they won't get any bigger than may be 1 1/2 inches, and so far they have not gotten that big. Now, about 2 weeks after I brought them home, I noticed a clear gel like sacks on the glass with what I had thought were about 10-20 eggs in each sack. Then about a week later, there were something growing in the "eggs" that just disappeared. It looked like whatever it was in the sack broke out. But the thing is I didn't see any baby snails anywhere. I have seen about 6 sacks now on the front of the aquarium, but don't know how many there may be on the rocks and the ornaments. My question is, where are the baby snails? The girl at Petco had told me that these snails don't populate as fast as the ones they sell, but since I saw the egg sacks about 3 weeks ago, shouldn't I see some snails? Actually I did see one 3 days ago, but since then can't find it again. It was climbing toward the top, so don't know if it's on the hood or what. I do have african dwarf frogs, could they have eaten the baby snails? I also do gravel vac and change water every week, could I have suctioned them up? Please help!
