:I bought a freshwater Ray and it died 3 days later, my Nitrates, amonia and PH where perfect. The only other fish in the tank are 2 pikes and they all joined the aquarium together ( They are fine )What if anything did I do wrong? Email me with any thoughts. trebcat@yahoo.com
Well this is a saltwater sharks and sting rays forum, but i always took to notice that mamny freshwater hobbyist alway makes the mistake while in buying a sting ray there tanks bed is of rough gravel substance and this is cruel to place a sting ray in a tank with rough gravel bed, they feel more secure if they can inbed themselfs in a sandy bed, they can`t if its a stone bed and the situation gets worst when a tank mate picks at a ray. But even a feshwater ray grows to a foot, what size is this tank and with any sting ray, a tank with alot of decorations is not good with a ray, they have no place to swim, they need a wide open space to swim around across the tank and the more items in this space just stresses him and in time causes his demise. :((
