:It depends on what is in the tank. If you have live rock that will make a good filter on its own, if not you will need something. Most hang on tank units will work fine, and are not that expensive. Undergravels do work, but i am not as fond of them.

::I have about an 80 litre hexagonal tank - 60cmx45cm - it holds 2 coldwater seahorses (Aria and Niatross)I need some help on filtration units. I have a power unit that sits inside the tank at the moment but it is not good enough - I go to the fish shops but they want to sell me this huge cannister units (eheim and fluval)- I don't like the undergravel systems but can anyone make a recommendation on what size filtration unit you need?
