There are no freshwater seahorses. All seahorses can live in varying degrees of salinity, up to the point of almost freshwater. But this is for a short time only. Because of this people have thought there are freshwater species. In fact they are all saltwater fish.

:Is there such a creature as a freshwater seahorse? I would love to own seahorses, however I am not sure if I am versed enough to maintain a saltwater tank.
