Cardinal fish would work very well. You could get Pajama fish for like 12 or 13 dollars, Bangai Cardinals are very attractive but are closer to 30 bucks, either way I have six pajamas and they are pretty interesting. Colors aren't the greatest but it definatley adds variety to the tank. They are rather hardy and not a nuisance to other fish.

:Hi, I'm about to set up a fish-only 29 gallon tank and would like some advice on which fish are good to have. I have read that gobies and certain clown fish are good, but are there anything else? I don't want aggressive fish and ones that are hard to keep (ex. a mandarin goby that is best kept in a mature reef tank). I also have another question. I have an Eclipse 3 hood and would like to know what kind of protein skimmer should I purchase? Would I have to make any modifications for a skimmer to fit? Please get back to me as soon as possible. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
