I had some shells also that I had collected on some trips, I knew they had not been in any soap or anything harmfull, I just put mine on the stove and brought temp up to boil, and then let cool and added them to the tank.. shells are a natural item and will even help buffer the water. Kerrie
:I just wanted a second opinion on this one. I was told that if I wanted to add a few shells in my marine tank, I had to soak them in dechlorinated water for 24 hours. Correct? These shells haven't been in the ocean for at least 10 years, if this info helps. Are there any additional steps I need to take before introducing them to my tank? Please let me know. Thank you!
