Try this web site, listed below. He a little long winded but covers everything. I also have always used a product called Nitrex to cycle my tanks. It cost $12 and will covert ammonia and nitrites over to nitrates, less harmful to fish, right away. You don't have to go through the damsel faze and can put fish in right away, it worth checking out.

Rember everyone has a different method but if it works thats all that matters.
