The "standard industry term" of a reef-ready tank is one that comes pre-drilled(either one end or both ends, depending on tank size), has the necessary overflow(again, at one end or both) and the necessary plumbing. Nothing more. Aquariums shops and/or petshops usually may offer any number of accessories for sale as a "combo kit", but a reef-ready tank is nothing more than a drilled tank with overflow compartment and plumbing accessories that are available from the better manufacturers of tanks; Oceanic, Dutch Aquariums Sys, etc..

ps: cabinet stands are also available as reef-ready stands because they have a special modification at the back ends to allow for the plumbing accessories and drainage.
