RTB shark on his own?

I love my red tailed black shark to bits, but I'm having an absolutely nightmare with him. He's been in my 50G tank for about a year and he's always been territorial but lately he's chasing everything that moves! He's always been fine with my cory's but over the last few weeks he's chasing them every 5 seconds. This is a bit worrying, especially as some of my cory's are babies. It's got so bad that I've had to quickly transfer him to the spare (already established) 10G tank. He seems OK in here and he has plants and a cave, but I wondered if he'd be OK on his own (for the next few months anyway). Maybe he's just not comfortable with ANY type of fish?
Thanks
