: I have 58 red tailed sharks in my aquarium they recently had eggs and they hatched. I think that if you want a better chance of having fry you should go out and by 4 more sharks to keep the agression down. You can tell the sex of your sharks by the size and the plumpness of them. My biggest shark was the only female in my tank. You will be able to tell when she has layed her eggs because if the other shark is a male and starts to follow her then stop arch his back and stay for a few minuites, he will repeat from any where from 1 hour to 6 days. I only had 6 sharks in my tank before they had fry. It took them about 5 days to mate.

Holy Cow!!!! are you serious your rts had babies?Have they spawned for you again? If thats true im going out and buying a large tank and put 10 rts in there.
