I wouldnt bother buying a 10 gallon unless you were going to keep someother kind of fish. A RTS needs at least 20 gallons. 29 or large is better and they like longer tanks rather than tall tanks.
Like Ross said they are not brackish fish. I dont know if this stuff is classified as sea salt or if it has the same benefits as sea salt but I always add a few tablespoons of Doc Wellfish's Aquarium Salt whenever I do a water change.
I wouldnt bother with the undergravel filter. Just get a Whisper 5-15 power filter. I have one on my 10 gallon, does a good job.
I dont know what kind of food you plan on feeding him, but if you are planning on feeding him flake food you can probably forget about it. My RTS ate it but very rarely. Feed them sinking shrimp pellets or sinking algae pellets, or better yet live or in my case frozen foods like brine shrimp.
Make sure he has a cave. You can go to a home improvment store and get a new clay pot, cut it in half and boil it and put it in the tank. Has to be new, cnat be used do to fertilizers for the plants that once lived in the pot.
And finally if you do get a 20+ gallon tank only get one (1) RTS for a tank that size. If you had a 55 gallon you probably could get away with two (2).
