The koi will most likely not eat the lily pads, tho they have certainly been known to do it from time to time. But they will almost certainly wreck the lily anyway. They love to dig in the pots, and once they get to the tender shoots on the roots they will eat those. These wonderful fish are very intelligent, very inquisitive and very, very bad! We have no plants at all in the koi pond, but for their entertainment we do throw them a few water hyacinths to play with. The poor hyacinths only last a day or so.

::hello, i have lillypads in one of my ponds, would koi eat them? and if so, do you know if just regular goldfish would eat them? thanks a bunch
