how large do they have to be to breed? Will they breed in outdoor ponds? My pond is about 30ft by 20ft and 3ft deep. I want to have a pond full of fairly large channel cats (like 12 or more inches). Will they live in there? I live in southern new jersey. It does freeze over but not to the bottom. How fast will they grow? Do I have to feed them? How many should I put in there? Will they live through the winter? I have seen ponds that freeze over entirely and the cats do fine? do I have to add deicer or poke holes in the ice, or will they be fine?
