You neglected to say what part of the country you are in..You can keep channel cats in a pond..Make sure you do not let it freeze solid accross....You need to have vents so carbon dioxide gasses can escape..Keep in mind...Channels are big fish and grow fast..They will eat any fish they can swallow...


:can i keep channel catfish in an outdoor pond? It does freeze over in the winter, but not solid to the bottom. Also, will they breed? The pond is like 30ft by 20ft and about 3 or 4 feet deep in the middle. Will they breed? How fast will they grow? How long will it take for them to breed? How many should I put in there? I want them to get big. The cats are like 2 to 4 inches long.
