depends on the type of goldfish. If they are roundbodied or fancy goldfish, then no they should not be left in the pond. And no matter what type of fish you have you must keep an open hole in the ice for the gas exchange to take place or they will most likely die.

:if my pond is deep enough can i keep my gold fish in it over the winter. can they survive under the ice or do i kneed to keep the water from freezing over.
