Hello,

We are going to be moving to a house with a larger lot very soon. One of the things I want to do is design and build a pond that will house turtles. I have red eared sliders, painted and reeves at the moment. I am thinking about a 800 - 1000 gallon pond at the moment.

Can anyone advise me as to:
1. Best type of filtration system and pump for this. Turtles are quite messy. Although, fun to watch:)
2. Other pond set ups I can view online to get an idea.
3. Best type of pond: a. liner b. hard plastic c. fiberglass

I have absolutely NO knowledge in ponds. Although I am quite familiar with indoor aquarium set ups.

The more info the better.
Thanks in advance!
Lori
