Breeding Fancy Goldfish in a Pond?

I did a search and didn't find a question similar.

Do fancy (fantail,, black moors...) goldfish breed in ponds? I have heard they will but that they need to be the only types in the pond, not to mix them with Koi or comets. I have never had problems with the pond comets or common goldfish breeding, just never produced and fancy babies. Any info on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
