does a crayfish carry any kind of worm/parasite that (WHEN put with fish) PASS it on to the fish?

I ask because I keep goldfish and everything was fine, I put a cray (i had for awhile seperately) into the tank and THE NEXT day all my fishes tails were "eaten" away. (reminded me of tail rot)

I think its the work of some kind a parasite or something and NOT the cray EATING them, because the cray is only half the size of my smallest goldie. My Goldfish ARE LARGE. (and I watch and nothing)

Anyone suggest anything it could be? or how to RID it?
