The pond in my yard is 900 gallons, with a 17' waterfall/stream (about 4' lift). I am not sure how much the pump thats in there pumps now, but it isnt enough. The hose running from the pump to the top of the waterfall is only 1/2 in. all the pumps that that i have seen with the capacity to move the water at a rate of 900 gph have 3/4 -1" outlets. Can I reduce that down to 1/2", or would that defeat the purpose? Do I want to circulate all my water once an hour? what would be a good pump for my situation. any advice would be helpful. P.S. I dont want to spend much more then 200.00 for the pump.
