cracks and leaks in my cement pond

We purchased a 16 year old home with a cement pond in front. There is one visible crack from the top edge of the wall and it goes down about 2 feet (pond is 4.5 feet deep). Water leaks down to the bottom of crack and then stays at that level. How do I repair and seal it adequately so pond can be filled up?
