A friend who's new to fish impulsivly bought two juvi common plecos and added them to his 29 gallon tank with 3 fancy goldfish. He was shocked when I explained that "small pleco" means baby pleco which will grow up to a foot long. Against my advice, he's decided to keep them and insists that he'll upgrade the tank to a 55 gal. when necessary.
The thing is, this guy knows nothing about fish, so I was hoping that someone could tell me when it would be necessary to upgrade these fish to a 55 gallon tank. I don't trust him to care for these animals properly right now so any information I can use to help him give these fish a proper home is much appreciated.
