:I recently traded some guppies for two baby plecos. I was told they are "Bearded" or "Bushy nose" Plecos. I'm looking for a proper name for the fish and wether or not they only grow to be 3 inches long. Does anyone know how they reproduce and what their reproduction requirements are ?

:Debra

The Bushynose pleco is also called a Bristlenose pleco, and they can grow to around 5 inches, sometimes more. They are extremely easy to breed, but need a cave of some sort in which to breed in. The following sites will tell you more on their scientific name as well as breeding.

Ancistrus temminckii - Bristlenose pleco

Ancistrus sp.
