::ok i feed my platies twice a day they eat everything and i know im not over feeding them. My concern is that there is tons of platie poop long pink turds all over the bottom of my tank. i vacum regulary but dont wana have to do it dialy. is this normal? should it be pink? please help. i feed them tropical fish flakes is that the irgh tthing to feed them? ok thanks

Bottom feeders eat food that falls to the bottom, they don't eat poop, so a bottom feeder in this case is not the answer.
If your platies are creating that much waste, then you need to look at how much you are feeding them. The more you feed the more they are going to poop out. They shouldn't be fed any more than twice a day, and then only what they can eat in about 2 or 3 minutes, anymore than this is overfeeding.
