Platies do behave better in larger groups. More platties would be suggested over female bettas, as even the females can get agressive.
You may also want to consider moving them to a lower traffic area.

:hi, i have 2 platies that have serious issues, they freak out whenever you go near them, theyre scared of food, and almost jump out of the tank when you walk into the room, im afraid theyre going to have heartattacks!! theyve been like this as long as ive had them, about 4 months. i thought the problem was because they were with a male betta (in a 10 gal) so i moved them into a 2 and a half gallon (one of those kritter pen things) with a filter but theyve actually gotten worse. could it be because there is only two of them, do they need a larger group to feel secure?
:Would moving them into a 10gal with 3 female bettas help or make things worse? thanks
:chelsea
