I've tried google for about an hour total. I gave it the ol' college try. I can not find any web pages which document commonly occuring forms of freshwater algae in the aquarium environment.

I have hair algae, the common algae that grows on glass and some other algae I can not identify. If anyone knows of a guide, please let me know. THe next step is to post pictures from my tank. THis unknown form of algae is a dark dreen color and can only be described as short and bristly.

Thanks,
Karl
