Print out a couple of those pics, take them to your lps, and show them to someone in the fish department. Describe it to them and ask them to show you the proper medication for your remaining fish.
That sounds like fungus to me. Whether it's columnaris or a true fungus, I can't tell from your description. Jungle Fungus Clear and Jungle Fungus Eliminator are meds I've used but less acute cases. In this case, you might want to try a combination of something like Maroxy and Tetracycline or Maracyn (I or II). Ask the folks at your petstore.
Fungus usually comes from the slime coat being damaged or worn away, making the fish vulnerable. If your fish have been ill, have had parasites, have been injured, or have been very stressed (this could be anything from illness to bad water parameters to fighting between the two), this could have caused it.
Bottom line, if you want to try and save this one, take those pictures and a sample of your water to your petstore and ask them to help you out. Good luck, I hope you can save the other. :(

PS- It can be very beneficial to aquaint yourself with the common illnesses and problems that fish come across. I would suggest typing something like "Fish diseases" into the search engine and doing some reading on the illnesses and medications out there. The quicker you can recognize symptoms, accurately diagnose, and treat, the more likely that your fish will come through alright.
