Are you sure that none of the other fish were ever aggressive toward the parrots in the first place? Maybe one scare made them hide.

I had extra large Black Barbs in my tank. They were large and calm enough for the Parrots to get over their fear and come out. No matter what, those barbs just swam around.

Be careful of one tiger barb. They have a tendency to be aggressive if they are by themselves.

Another question. Did your tank have enough time to finish cycling? Four weeks would be just past the middle of a cycle. Could it be possible that your nitrate/nitrites and ammonia are flopping up and down on these poor guys? Take a water sample to your lps as soon as possible to be sure. Bad water would make them hide.
