Both species I gave do have that stripe but the head is different. Sathete is tan but lighter colored on the underside with a few light spots on the head. You would have to decribe yours good to determine which one. I will tell you that Sathete can get 12' and can put a hurtin on the aquarist if it bites.

: Craig, yes it does have a white stripe along the "ribbon" of the body...I've seen this eel on different pricelists with different scientific names. One list had it under the same genus at the blue ribbon, Rhinomuraena. The woman at the LFS I got it from swore to me that it was the albino form of the blue ribbon. I know this is impossible though, because the head of this eel is completely different.
