I've been feeding our Chainlink (Echidna catenata) pieces of Lance Fish by hand since we got him 7 months ago. He's grown from about 4-1/2" to 9-1/2". He's accidentally nipped me a couple of times during feeding but has never shown any tendency to go for my fingers on purpose. In fact, I can put my hand in and he will come and curl around and through my fingers and let me rub his tummy!!! (Yes, I do thoroughly wash my hands before and after!!)
I did discover early on to turn the lights out for a while before feeding; his eyesight is poor but seems to be able to see better in subdued light.
Anyone else hand feed?
Dick:)
