:I have acquired a 20in yellow head moray to live with my 25 in white mouth moray. Has anybody had any experience with the yellow head moray?
Just to let you know the yellowhead moray eel is a most interesting eel. He is causing a defensive action from my marine beta every time he is near. The marine beta gets right up next to his eyes and shows the big white spot. The marine beta is the smallest fish in the tank and could be a bite size.
When the marine beta shows it's spot the yellow mouth goes to the other end of the tank. Also the yellow head eats and eats. It checks out the fish continually to see if any is bite size. This occurs even 5 minutes after a full feed where it cannot hold anymore. The yellowhead is also a tunnel digger.
All my live rock now has tunnels under it. The yellow head which is smaller than my whitemouth get along fine. The sleep together, swim together and as long as I rotate strips of fish they eat together. On a scale of 10 I would rate the whitemouth a 6 and the yellowhead an 8. They will take a lazy tank and make it alive.
