Yes that sounds reasonable. The snowflake will be a good starter eel for you. Sounds like your doing your research and that's good. Since you have not maintained a marine system before continue to research and seek advice when needed. Good luck.

:As the name implies, I'm more of a snake keeper than anything else (university student, maintain native and nonnative venomous and nonvenomous snakes both for the college and privately), but I have kept a few aquaria on and off over the years, but mainly really simple stuff, and many times just a few things here and there for use as feeders for my other animals.
:I'm thinking of adding an aquarium to one of my rooms. I've really been looking at snowflake moray eels, and from what I can find on them they seem pretty hardy (I've read a lot of the old posts about them on this forum) and generally an easy species to keep.
:I have room for a larger tank, but I have a 29 gallon long that I was thinking about housing a small one in, and then as the eel grows move it to a different tank and fill in the smaller tank with other stuff. Does that sound reasonable?
:I'm new to marine aquariums, so is this a good beginner animal to start with?
