: Tank is doing much better.I did lose all the adult mollies, but with 25 fry downstairs, wasn't to worried about it.I didn't get any stuff from the pet store. Did a 50% water change & kept the lights off. Tank is in a bright room, but as far from the window as possible. The tank came with 2 bulbs & I had both on, constantly. I removed 1 & will limit the time lights are on. As I said room is bright and it isn't necessary to have lights on during the day.
:Green haze is gone.Temp is 76, ammonia is 0, don't have any thing to check nitrate or nitrite - actually never knew I had to check those. Ph is high, around 8. I have mollies & I know they can tolerate a high ph, but is that to high. How can I lower the ph?
:Fry are doing great.Tank is crowded & I was thinking of moving some to the now empty 10 gallon tank. But after checking ph levels decided better not. Fry tank still has high ammonia & ph is around 6. I will vacuum tank tomorrow & do 50% water change. Then I'll do 25% water change every other day, to get the ammonia lower & ph higher. Is that the right approach?

My suggestion is uncrowd the fry tank and add some gravel or filter media from your other tank to help give cycling it a boost. Also, don't mess with your pH since this will just cause more harm than good. Just do small daily water changes in your fry tank until the pH levels out to what is in the other tank before moving them. Since you don't have them I highly recommend you get test kits for nitrite and nitrate, you are going to need them to make sure levels don't get too high, especially since you're still cycling the fry tank.
