My son got happy with the food and over fed the fish. The 10 gallon tank became cloudy. I left it for a few days, hoping it would clear up, changing a bit of water daily.Lost one adult molly & 2 remaining look sick & are skinny, swimming bad & floating vertically, still breathing but the minute they stop they go to a verticle position. A trip to the pet store and I was advised that I probably had an ammonia spike & the fish are probably poisined. Advised me to do a 50% water change & gave me stuff to help decloud. Fish are still alive but are still sick looking and swimming vertically. Is it inevitable, are they going to die? So I check the 8 gallon tank downstairs, that holds about 25-30 babies the female had & the ammonia was bad as well. Did a 50% wather change 2 days ago and ammonia is still high. What should I do. Continue water changes.
I realise that with that many babies they are bound to over crowd the tank. I was going to move some to the 10 gallon tank, but am afraid to now. Some are a month old now, others 3 weeks old. HELP Don't know what to do?
