I am so sad...Friday, 2/21 I noticed female mollie showing signs of birthing (I've raised 2 other births from her, 44 fry total)I already had 5 gallon birth tank set up and decided to move her Saturday. Right before moving her I noticed a pink bubble (salmon-egg color)forming around her vent. Two hours after moving her to the birth tank she was found at the bottom of tank, breathing shallow. The bubble was still visible. Knowing she was dieing. I pushed on her belly to release the fry. They exploded out, but all were dead and had pieces of colored bubble wrapped around them. She didn't improve and I made the choice to move her to the freezer for a less painful death. She lived in a 55-gallon tank. Water was excellent condition, except I started Maracyn-Two medication two days before for a corydoras that I suspected had Septicemia. The other community fish are doing fine, including the sailfin male mollie she bred with. What happened to her? I am so baffled at why I lost her.
