substitute for their own family (school) of fish of their own species. Same with corys...groups of 3.
they will sometimes buddy up...but not in the same way, they don't interact in the same way, and if you want your fish to be as healthy as possible you need to provide them with the habitat that creates the greatest sense of security and well being for them.

:i know loaches are schooling fish and i do intend on getting one more in my 55 gallon, but i heard that they will tag along with cory cats *i have one* and plecos *i have two*. I was just wondering if this is true>>>???<<<
