predetermined genetic potential to reach a particular size.
Then, environment comes into play...do they have optimum space and the best water conditions, are they in a school??
Also, diet is a factor...are they recieving all of their dietary needs??

My smallest ones (1 1/2" last May) are now 2 1/2" in October.

Keep the water very clean with nitrates less than 10ppm and feed a varied diet of algae tabs, flake, spinach and romaine lettuce leaves, frozen (or live) bloodworms and brine shrimp, shrimp pellets, give them a good amount of space and keep them in groups of no less than 3 and you should see better growth than if they are kept in conditions less than those described.

If you can provide a current of water for them in your tank,, they like that too!

:I just got some clown loaches to put in with my stingray..and was wondering about how fast they grow. Mine are all in the 1 inch range, but kinda hoping they will shout up fast. Thoughts and comments please
