Clown Loaches just use a small, rounded, aquarium gravel. Mine is a natural gravel, not the colored type often sold in stores.

Sand not only creates challenges when it comes to cleaning, it easily packs down and traps debris that decays, creating anaerobic bacterial pockets...when disturbed, those pockets release toxins capable of killing your fish.


:It was recommended that I have sand in my tank for clown loaches as they love to dig.

:I am assuming I wouldn't be able to vaccum this the way I would gravel

:Can you please tell me how do you keep it clean?
