Hi frank, i can help you with this, but from the sounds of it, this is your first tank and if so, i really think you should try freshwater first to get a handle on it, see if you never maintain an marine aquarium before, you will be making lots of errors, and just by following any of my direction or anybody else`s won`t really help you in a healthy aquarium. So would you consider first starting a freshwater aquarium for afew years to get an handle on what your doing, or you just want to rush right in?? , if so ill tell you what you want to know, but it`ll not help you much for you need an understand in maintenance of a aqaurium and great water conditions, One thing you should know is a lionfish had high requirements in water conditions, they are easy to keep but as i said if you want this species of lionfish, you would need no smaller then a 120 for it`ll be asame for one to have these animals in so smaller a tank as a 55 gal. Just let me know if you want to go with it or you will go along with my advice and first start a freshwater, if you will start with freshwater tank, then go into freshwater beginners, and there be afew people i know of that`ll asses you.
Happy Fishing ><{{{{"> Buddy
