What is the temperature of the water in the indoor pond, about how many gallons and how many fish and how big are they? Also how old are the koi? Most koi do not spawn until they are a couple of years old, it is all temperature dependent. Sounds like a water quality issue to me, so check the water quality as soon as you can. Many koi keepers bring thier fish in for the winter and keep them in overcrowded conditions, as long as you provide plenty of aeration and do partial water changes frequently (like every other day or so) the fish will be fine. One winter I kept 3 14-18" koi in a 90 gallon tank for several months, but it was a ton of work to keep them healthy and happy. Now they all reside in a 5,000+ pond that is heated to 70* for the winter season, costly, but a heck of a lot less work!
:My koi are currently kept inside for the winter in an indoor pond. The temp over the past few days got a bit warmer in the water and I recently added a UV light over the water to imitate the sunlight. Over the past few days my fish started acting strange, they are all huddling together in a group and don't show any interest in eating. Today I notced one particular koi pushing the other fish up against the pond side and then started to kind of bite on them and was chasing them around hehe. Could they be spawning? I couldnt find a lot of info online about this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
