Yesterday, we noticed one of our goldfish (that we havent seen in a while) was all fat and scales were standing up all over his body. It was clear he had dropsey. He was looking pretty bad, so I euthanised him painlessly...which kills me to do. Now today, all my koi and other fish in my pond are all afraid of me. They will not eat from my hand anymore...probably because theyre freaked out by me snatching one of their friends with a net. Now I notice about 6 fish tend to sit in one place motionless. Now what causes dropsey and is it contagious to the other fish? How do I stop it? How did the goldfish get it in the first place? He was one of the first 6 fish we ever put in our pond and has always been healthy. I have 0.1% pond salt in my pond. I have plants in my pond so I shouldnt go higher. My ammonia and nitrite levels are zero. Help me...I do not want all my fish dying off, and I dont think i can stand to euthanise another fish, its too much for me. Thanks
