My pond has one of those firestone liners, the expensive, thick one. Around the pond are rocks the whole way around, but more at the end where the waterfall is. Some of the rocks are touching the surface of the water, and they are all sandstone. I was told to use sandstone, not limestone. In the pond there are 7 water lilies, with water gardening soil. 5 other plants with the same soil, all are in just plastic containers. I have 2 fountains, the pumps to those fountains are sitting up on some bricks. All tubing is made of vinyl or that flexible stuff specifically made for ponds. I am running the water through a Bioforce 2000 and it goes from there down a waterfall made of all sandstone. There is a lot of algae covering the bottom of the liner. As far as my water source it all comes from my tap. I live in a town of 1200 people, so it is "town water". Its relatively hard, but not really hard. The rain does fall into the pond, and during the summer we do have very heavy downpours at times. The pond is about 1200 gallons. Ammonia, nitrite levels are zero. That about sums it up. Let me know what you think i should do. Thanks a lot.
: what's in your pond besides water? rocks, bottom substrate? where does the water come from .. rainfall, stream trickle, aquifer? is the source of the pond water the same as that of your tap?
: need to know more about the pond.
