Justin, what is your pond made of? Do you have any rocks in it?

are you on city water or well water?
What else is in your pond besides fish?

Have you done water changes? If your tap water is 7.8 to 8.2 I would do some water changes first...do not count on rain water to take the place of your cleaning and maintenance procedures.

I have asked dan, from the Freshwater board to come take a look at your pH problem and I am hoping he gets a chance. He is a pH wizard...among other things :-)

: Hello...I'm still having trouble with my pH. We had a very heavy rainfall today, I thought maybe it might bring the pH down since the pH of the rain was 6.0, but it did not move it is still 9.0. At least thats what my test kit says, it might even be higher than that, because 9.0 is as high as my test kit goes and I know its possible to go up to 14.0. My tap water is somewhere between 7.8 and 8.2. What should I do to get those pH levels down? I was told not to use pH down.
