: The black stripe has a jagged edge in males and a smooth edge in females. Typical floating foods are accepted, although they may have to be "weaned" over to flakes. Live foods like wingless friutflies, brine shrimp, etc. should definitely be included in the diet as well. This species spawns on submerged plants, leaf litter, etc. and will use spawning mops.
