Hello, Do any of you know of a water condition or contaminant that would affect mostly male nothos like EGG and RAC and KIR and RUN? They are doing fine, then just start to mope around until they die. They turn pale but seem to keep a lot of color, too. This process takes about two weeks. The females are much less affected. But they do drop off when they get a little older. These were all pet shop bought for breeders ( I've got eggs already). They came with ick and velvet which I cured with first a 30 min. formalin bath and a week later some methylene blue. They survived and bred for three weeks before beginning to succomed to this strange problem. My peat moss is under investigation, but I boil it and rinse it thourghly. Does that remove all possible contaminants? Water ph and otherwise seems ok. Why would males be more affected than females? Thanks to anyone out there who has had a similar problem and can offer some advice.
