xenia vs. starfish

I have a fish-only marine tank (90 gn.), but on my live rock I accidentally got some xenia. This turned out to be very lucky, because it has really flourished, and is beautiful, growing and spreading. Recently I bought a "chocolate chip" starfish (Protoreaster nodosus), which seems to be doing very well. I have read, however, that these starfish will eat most invertebrates, and I notice it spending a lot of time in & near the xenia. The xenia seems fine so far, but will the starfish eventually harm &/or ruin it? Thanks.
