I've had my tank set up for about a month now. It's small, so I only have a couple of Flame Tetras, 4 Neon Tetras, a Cory and 2 ghost schrimp. Got the ghost shrimp about a week ago and they'd been doing good...eating well & none of the fish picking on them. Yesterday morning (appx. 6am), I noticed they'd both molted. Shells were left in the middle of the tank but 1 shrimp had hidden rocks. The other was already out...although still being very careful to keep his back to the wall. Neither looked any different than they had before molting (both were still clear). When I came home after work last night, 1 was still hiding, the other still out....but they'd both turned a cloudy white and didn't seem to be moving. I hid the one that was out, under the rock where his buddy was and went to bed. When I looked this morning....they weren't in the hiding places they were last night....but they weren't out scavanging either. If they're not out when I get home, I'll poke around for them again but, in the meantime. . . .does anyone know whether that cloudy white color is part of molting or indicates death? Also....does anyone know whether it's common to loose these guys in a molt?
Thanks,
Rebecca
